Herbert Walter Kremer

Herbert Walter Kremer, 67, Greenfield, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2008, after a five year battle with leukemia. He was born July 20, 1941, in Koenigsberg, Germany to the late Hubert Jacob and Ida (Kutschat) Kremer. Herbert owned D & K Autohaus in Anderson for 20 years before going to work for Community Hospital East in 1987. While at Community Hospital, he received training and worked in all the mechanical and building trades, retiring in 2005. He also built and remodeled three personal residences in Hancock County. Herbert was a born-again Christian and served in several local Baptist churches over the last 40 years. His personal testimony was that he knew the Lord would be there to walk through the valley of the shadow of death with him.
Herbert is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Betty (Jones) Kremer; daughters Sherri (Nicolas) Rouiller of Buc, France and Tia (Joel) Brecount of Ft. Wayne, 4 grandchldren Lesiene and Hogan Brecount and Camille and Julie Rouliller, brother Baldur (Martha) Kremer of Corona, CA; half-sister Sonja Dykstra, and nephew Bruce Dystra of Charlotte, NC.
The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate and capable care Herbert received from the doctors, nurses and staff at Community Hospital Cancer Center and the Indiana Bone Marrow Transplant (St. Francis Hospital). Their devotion to Herbert and his family is deeply appreciated.
Funeral Information
A celebration of Herbert’s life will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 11:00 am at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fortville. Pastor John Dimmick will be officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.
