Charles “Whitey” Jones, 84, of Fortville, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Rawlins House in Pendleton, Indiana. He was born September 20, 1925 in Lapel, IN to Bert and Grace Nicholson, Jones. He was a graduate of Lapel High School, and continued studies at IUPUI. Whitey was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon completing his service he worked for C.E. Pauley Co. in Indianapolis as a department manager. Whitey was a life member of Fortville Masonic Lodge #207; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis; and Murat Shrine, Indianapolis. He is survived by his wife Charlotte Coons Jones; son Brad and wife Pam Jones of Bargersville; sisters Marge & Loretta; grandson Chris and wife Heather Litz of Greenwood; 6 great-grandchildren; and 22 nieces and nephews.
