Ronald L. Seals, 84, of Fortville went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2011. He was born March 18, 1927 in Hoopston, IL to the late Everett Ollie and Lena M. (Laflen) Seals. Mr. Seals graduated from Indiana Mortuary School in 1952 and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Fortville Christian Church, Charter President of the Fortville Optimist Club, and two-time Past President of the Fortville Lions Club. Ron was also a member of: Christian Laymen Fellowship; Fortville Brother & Sisterhood; Indiana Funeral Directors Association; National Funeral Directors Association; F & AM Lodge No. 207; Murat Shrine; and the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. Ron retired in 2002 after 37 years of owning and operating Ronald L. Seals Funeral Home in Fortville. He had been a funeral director for over 55 years. In conjunction with the funeral home, he also ran Seals Ambulance for many years and was one of the first EMTs certified in the State of Indiana. He is survived by his wife Darlene (Kimmel) Seals whom he married on July 19, 1953 in Anderson; daughters Ronna (Brian) Pannell of Fortville and Renae (Steve) Falksen of Katy, TX; sons Randy (Marie) Seals of Fortville; and Rick (Shelley) Seals of Noblesville; grandchildren: Jennifer, Brittany, Amanda, Kelly, Tim, and Chad; brother Don (Clara) Seals of Noblesville; and sister Joann Schannep of North Vernon. He was preceded in death by brother Gordon and sister Eileen. Funeral InformationFriends may call on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 2 to 8 pm, with Masonic services beginning at 8 pm, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11:00 am at Fortville Christian Church, 9450 N 200 W, Fortville, IN 46040, with calling there from 10 am.
