Ben R. Parker, 62, of Ingalls, formerly of Fortville, passed away November 24, 2008. He was born February 27, 1946 in Madisonville, KY to Lacey and Hazel (Rodgers) Parker. Ben worked for the Town of Fortville before becoming the Chief of Maintenance for Fall Creek Waste Water, and later, JWR Transport. Ben was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Ingalls Church of God, QSAC Racing Club, President of the Ingalls Planning Commission, the I.O.O.F. Lodge 131 in Anderson, Ingalls Volunteer Fire Dept. for 23 years, Fortville Volunteer Fire Dept. for 6 years, Good Sam’s Camping Club, a former reserve police officer for the Town of Fortville and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He is survived by wife, Georgia (Kirby) Parker, whom he married November 16, 1985 in Anderson; son, John W. Parker of Ingalls; brothers, Robert (Janet) Parker of Pendleton and Daniel Parker of Fortville; sister, Nancy (Gregg) Davis of Terre Haute; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, L. Ray Parker. Funeral InformationFriends may call on Sunday, November 30, 2008 from 4 to 8 pm at Ingalls Church of God, 528 N. Meridian St., Ingalls, IN. A celebration of Ben’s life will take place at 10 am on Monday, December 1, 2008, at the church. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
