Orndolph D. Stoner

February 18, 1918 - September 24, 2008

Orndolph Dunn Stoner, 90, Fortville, passed away at 2:45 pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. He was born February 18, 1918 in McCordsville to the late Edwin F. and Sarah Louisa (Dunn) Stoner and graduated from the old Mt. Comfort High School. He married Mary Alice Blackford on January 7, 1938 in Andersonville, IN. Orndolph was a lifelong Hancock County farmer, a lifetime member of the Eden Masonic Lodge No. 477 and an avid camper. He retired from Pendleton Reformatory in 1981 after 21 years of service. Mr. Stoner is survived by sons, Charles E. (wife, Judy) Stoner of Greenfield and Garry L. (wife, Cheri) Stoner of Fortville; daughter, Shirley A. (husband, Clifford) Davis of Spencer; brother-in-law, Charles Blackford; sister-in-law, Helen Blackford; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; daughters, Sharon K. & Carol F. Stoner; brother, Delmas Stoner; and sister, Kathleen H. Vaughn.

Funeral Information

Friends may call from 2-6 pm on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fortville. A celebration of Orndolph’s life will be held on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
