Ellsworth A. “Mike” Davidson, 77, of Oaklandon, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. He was born August 22, 1931 in Indianapolis to Austin H. and Loretta A. (Lyons) Davidson. Mike was a 1949 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School and served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. He was a member of the Agape Christian Church, Oakland Lodge No. 140 F. & A. M, and VFW Post 261. He retired from Warren Twp. Schools in 1993, where he served as a bus driver. Previously, he served as a custodial maintenance supervisor and school bus driver for Lawrence Twp. Schools from 1961 until 1979. Mr. Davidson was also a self-employed sign letterer and engraver. He is survived by his wife, Elinor M. (Cain) Davidson, whom he married on June 23, 1952 in Indianapolis; sons: Michael L. (Lori) of Indianapolis and Jon A. of Oaklandon; daughters: Sharon M. (Don) Literal of Fortville and Brenda K. (Kevin) Forth of Oaklandon; sister, Charlotte Haverkamp of Houston, TX; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Roberta Unverzagt. Funeral InformationFriends may call on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 4 to 8 pm at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fortville. The funeral service will take place Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 10 am at the funeral home. Donations InformationBurial will follow at Old Oaklandon Cemetery.
