Adrian E. Heche

Adrian E. Heche, 89, formerly of Fortville, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at his home. He was born October 9, 1920 in Bluffton, IN to Ed & Clara Heche. He graduated from Fortville High School, studied accounting at Butler University and tax law from the U.S. Treasury Department. He worked for the IRS from 1940-42. Adrian was a pilot for the U.S. Air Force late in WWII and remained in the Air Force Reserve for ten years, achieving the rank of Captain. He was co-owner of Heche’s 5 & 10 Store in Fortville from 1946 to 1986; a member of Fortville Library Board; the Masonic Lodge; and American Legion Post 319 as a charter member. He also was on the board of directors at Greenfield Banking Co. in 1979 and a member of the Fortville Methodist & Christian Churches. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 52 years, Phyllis Anderson Heche; brothers Paul & Ivan Heche; sister Joyce Fisher; and son-in-law Robert Arnold. He is survived by his wife Madeline; daughters: Dorinda Arnold of Fortville; Sheryl (Gary) Wilkie of Greenfield; and Christy (Mike) Lowe of McCordsville; stepdaughter Annette Rowe; stepson Brian Rowe; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Adrian's daughters will receive friends and celebrate his life on Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 2 to 6 pm at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fortville. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 7:00 pm at Fortville United Methodist Church.
