Joyce Anne (Goode) Garner

Joyce A. Garner, 77, of Fortville, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 in Greenfield   surrounded by her family.  She was born April 8, 1941 in Brookville, IN to the late Avery and Mary Christine(Roberts) Goode.  Joyce worked as a waitress at the former Post Restaurant in Pendleton and retired in 1993 from the former Guide Lamp plant in Anderson. She was a member of the UAW and the Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Garner Sr. whom she married November 10, 1955; step-mother: Nadine Goode of Shelbyville; children, Bob (Renae) Garner, Jr. of Indianapolis, Melvin (Michelle) Garner of Fortville, Charles Garner of Attica, Teresa (Harlan) Simonton of Illinois, Melinda Robinson of Texas, and Gregory (Jenna Johnson) Garner of Fortville; her siblings Kenneth (Mary) Goode of Westfield, William Goode of Harrah, OK, , Bruce Goode of Shelbyville, Dennis Burton of Anderson, Clyde Burton, Jr. of Greenfield, Linda Kaye Goode of Houston, TX, Nancy Swazay of Shelbyville, Debbie Sue (Chris) Martin of Foutaintown; over 80 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Anthony Garner, brothers David, Delbert and Danny Goode and a grandson Chad Garner.

Friends may call Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 4 to 8 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville.  A celebration of Joyce’s life will take place on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev.
