Mike and I knew Rick from High School when he and my younger brother John and their friends ran around together. They were all fun loving and carefree. Rick stood out because he always had a joke or a wisecrack and he was genuinely funny and often outrageous.
I reconnected with Rick late one evening at a gas station in K-town. He invited me over to see his house, and it turned out to be a fantastic place with pool table and bar, and a huge built on area with collections of all kinds of things he had gathered over the years. He had a fantastic sound system with a massive speaker system, a basketball goal, and several rare cars and motorcycles. It was as unique as Rick himself..
After that evening, Rick would occasionally stop by and visit with us. He was always "just Rick" - sometimes happy, sometimes sad, never pretentious, and always ready to share a laugh. He was a unique individual and we felt lucky to have known him.
R.I.P. Rick. You are missed.

Rick was a good person and had a big heart. I will always remember the good times growing up in junior high and high school as a classmate AND as a friend. The memories I have that include Rick make me smile ..... and he was such a little rascal ...... and it is these formative and coming-of-age years that will remain very special to me and to others that also knew him. I am so sad .....and am also very sorry for the loss of a truly sweet spirit on this earth ...... I just wish now that I had the chance to tell him what a great guy he is - and then to watch him blush,, like I know he would. - because he was a humble guy too. Rick was one-of-a-kind and that is one of the things I always liked best about him. I'll always remember him as smiling and laughing..... and I'll be able to smile in that remembrance. My deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones.

Rick was a great man. Whenever he came to visit, he almost always came bearing gifts, even if the gift was just a corny joke. If your car was broke down, Rick would loan you one of his. These memories of Rick aren't about what he had to give, but the heart of Rick. Rick had a big heart, and he will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

There are not enough words to express the sadness in our hearts at the loss of Rick's life. We still keep waiting for him to walk down the hallway and sit and visit for part of the day. He was one of a kind - a blessing to us all. Our prayers & love are with the family at this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear about Rick. We were part of Star & Heights Hot Air Balloon crew and he was so much fun. We moved north and I had not seen Rick for a while. I will always remember the fun we had. He was a good guy. So sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss. May your memories keep Rick alive in your hearts forever. I spent my entire elementary through high school education with Rick as my classmate. Most of those years riding the same bus morning and evening. We mostly lost touch through our adult years but I value him as a friend and wish we had made more effort to stay in touch. He will always be remembered when I think of my childhood. And I will remember him fondly as a really good guy that made me laugh often.
