Ruth A. Hayes

Ruth (Ruthie) Alice Hayes, 65, of Greenfield, Indiana went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice Care.

She was born May 5, 1954, at St. John's Hospital in Anderson, Indiana to the parents of Donald Gene and Lenora Alice (Graham) Hayes.

Ruthie knew and loved the Lord with all her heart. She was active in church, most recently attending Park Chapel Christian Church in Greenfield and previously Fortville Christian Church and Fortville Church of Christ.

Ruthie loved everyone she came to know, and she always greeted those around her with endearing eyes and a loving smile. In Ruthie's younger years, she was often seen riding her three-wheeled bicycle along Michigan Street in Fortville. She most loved spending time with her family and friends, and in her pastime, she enjoyed going to the movies, listening to Elvis albums, coloring, playing with her large collection of Barbie dolls, and working puzzles. Ruthie loved animals and took great joy in being surrounded by her many family pets over the years. She also loved the color pink, and is remembered for wearing it in some form or fashion most every day.

Ruthie is survived by her mother, Lenora Alice Hayes of Greenfield, her sister Sue Ann (Joe) Ferrell of Fortville, her brothers Michael Don (Rebecca) Hayes of Fortville and Timothy Joe (Toni) Hayes of Converse, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Gene Hayes.

Friends may call from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Park Chapel Christian Church. A celebration of her life will immediately follow visitation. Dave Woods minister of Park Chapel will officiate. Private family burial will take place at Philadelphia Cemetery at a later date.
