Angela Godbey, 71, of Fortville, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 in Indianapolis. She was born February 23, 1949 in Liberty, Kentucky to James O. and Ruth I. (Haste) Watson. Angie worked for the Department of Defense as an administrator. She retired in February 2001 after 33 years’ service.
Angie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for over 64 years. She loved her church members and loved hearing the church choir sing. Angie loved her grandchildren, cooking and baking. She always made too much, but she enjoyed helping people.
Angie is survived by husband Monte Godbey, whom she married October 30, 2006; son: Fred (Leslie) Turnell; brother Ronnie (Sue) Watson; grandchildren: Kana and Logan Turnell and Haleigh and Konnor Anderson as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Don Anderson and step-son Jim Anderson.
A service to celebrate Angie’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Gravel Lawn Cemetery Chapel with Dr. Randall Parker of Bethel Baptist Church officiating.
