Barry G. McFarland

Barry McFarland, 61, of Fortville, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in Indianapolis. He was born on August 29, 1964, in Greenfield to Glenn and Faerene (Cariker) McFarland.

Barry graduated from Greenfield Central High School in 1982 and worked at Shares, Inc. and as a greeter at Wal-Mart.

Barry was a member of the Fortville Church of the Nazarene and started there at 2 days old. He loved his church and church family. Barry had a loving heart and soul and beautiful blue eyes. If you met him, you loved him.

Barry enjoyed the Dukes of Hazzard, bowling, games on his iPad, and feeding ducks. He was a huge Johnny Cash and Elvis fan.

Barry is survived by sisters: Janie (Ron) Brown of Fortville; Glenda (Glen) Thompson of Ingalls nieces and nephews: Mike (Joni) Thompson, Sheila (Mike) Brunswick, Sonya (Scott) Cork, and Stephanie (Danny) Dotson; numerous great-nieces and nephews as well as several great-great-nieces and nephews, special friend Doris Selke as well as special caregivers Angela Rogers, Julie Goodman and many others whom he loved.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents, who are listed above.

A funeral to celebrate Barry’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Fortville Church of the Nazarene 701 S. Maple Street Fortville, IN 46040. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
