Carey Hanson

Carey L. Hanson, 45, of Fortville passed away unexpectedly on June15, 2022. Carey was born on June 4, 1977 to the late Richard Hanson and Myla (Henry) Harrison. The family moved to Fortville in 1981 and Carey was a 1995 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School.

Carey worked in the carpet cleaning industry. He took pride in and enjoyed seeing the results of his work. He was known for his passion of playing cornhole. He was the kind of guy that was always willing to help anyone if asked and always wore a warm, friendly smile on his face. He was a genuine friend.

Carey is survived by son Elias (Hysin) Hanson; his parents Myla and Doug Harrison; step-mother Sandy Hope; siblings Brandon (Lisa) Staker, Hayley (Michael) O’Reilly, Doug (Brianne) Harrison Jr., Kevin Hanson, and Kyle Hanson; his ex-wife Christina; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Richard Hanson.

Services for Carey will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Seals Funeral Home at 3:00 pm. Visitation will take place prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that Memorial Donations in Carey’s name be made to a ministry very close to Carey’s heart: Rebuilt Recovery & Discipleship, 24 W. Main Street, Bloomfield, IN 47424.
