Carol J. Carter, 77, of Fortville, passed away on June 10, 2026. She was born on August 21, 1948, in Rolla, Missouri, to Jay William Dean and Kathleen (Gillespie) Dean.
Family was the center of Carol’s life and the source of her greatest joy. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and adoring great-grandmother who treasured every moment spent together. Whether it was family gatherings, holidays, or simple everyday visits, Carol made each occasion special with her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a legacy of strong family bonds, kindness, and countless cherished memories that will live on through generations.
Carol was also a passionate Purdue sports fan and rarely missed the chance to cheer on the Boilermakers. Game days were something she looked forward to, often surrounded by family as they watched and celebrated together. Her enthusiasm and loyalty made watching Purdue sports more than just a pastime—it was another way she connected with those she loved.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
