Cathy Kay French, 70, of New Palestine, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, in Indianapolis. She was born May 25, 1951, in Lafayette, IN. Cathy Kay attended Ball State University and received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana Institute of Technology in 1997. She was a member of Heather Hills Baptist Church, enjoyed watching Scooby-Doo, singing in the church choir, reading and most importantly spending time with family.
Cathy Kay retired from the Department of Veteran Affairs as an Administrator of fiduciary claims. Following her retirement from the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Cathy Kay worked as the administrative assistant at Heather Hills Baptist Church.
Cathy Kay is survived by children: William E. Ostendorf of Noblesville, Patricia L. Davis of Indianapolis, Deanna E. (Bryan) Willis of New Palestine, Melissa A. French of McCordsville and Rianna M. Simpson of New Palestine; grandchildren: Savannah E. Lightle, C.J. Huegel, Paige Jones, Zoey Willis, Kendall Willis and Milana Victoria Mosbaugh; siblings: Amy Allen, Paul (Debbie) Widner and Marian (Jim) Gerdes; aunt Betty (Lawrence) Barton. She was preceded in death by her father Guy (Beulah) Widner, mother Myrna (Kuchera) Stovall and Rex Stovall.
A memorial service to celebrate Cathy Kay’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Online condolences may be shared at www.sealsfuneralhome.com.
