Clifford W. Brown, 96, of Fortville, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 in Greenfield. He was born April 11, 1924 in Rowletts, Kentucky to Curl and Fannie Lou (Thompson) Brown. He was a graduate of Memorial High School in Canmer, Kentucky. Cliff was a corporal in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. Cliff was a member of The Bridge Church (formerly Fortville Baptist Church), the Mt. Vernon Optimist Club and the Christian Laymen Fellowship. He retired as an insurance agent from United Insurance of America.
Cliff is survived by his wife Joyce (Spitzmesser) Brown, whom he married March 15, 1952; children Yvonne Kincade of Pendleton, Clifford “Bud” (Julie) Brown of Greenfield, Marie VanHorn of Indianapolis, Paul (Kim) Brown of Fortville; 11 grandchildren 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson; sister Wanda Backus of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bruce Thompson and John Brown as well as sister Frances Hitchcock.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic private family services will be held at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be shared at www.sealsfuneralhome.com.
