Clyde Junior` Alexander Obituary

Clyde Junior Alexander, 96, Fortville, IN, and formerly of Carthage, IL, passed away January 16, 2026. Clyde was born December 25, 1929, in Wellsville, MO, the son of Clyde and Lillie (Young) Alexander. He proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Clyde was a graduate of Carthage College. In 1990, he retired as a property book manager from the Finance Center at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, IN. Clyde attended Fortville Christian Church and also served as a deacon at Pendleton Christian Church. He was an avid gardener, loved to read books, and was a kind and friendly man who never knew a stranger.



Clyde is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean Alexander; his children, Janice Alexander Burkhart, Robert Alexander, Steven Alexander, John Alexander, Mary Alexander Thompson, Julie Alexander Jackson, and David Alexander; his eight grandchildren, Brian Alexander, Jeremy Alexander, Nathan Alexander, Lindsay Alexander Gaus, Halie Jackson, Hannah Alexander Foley, Lauren Alexander, and Quinton Alexander; and his great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. Central Time at Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, IL, with military honors. Private services were held in Fortville, IN.
