Debra M. (Smith) Anderson

Debra Mae Anderson, 68, of Fortville, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at her home. She was born November 13, 1954, in Indianapolis to Virgil and DeLores (Wilson) Smith.

Debbie was a graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School. She was an Instructional Assistant at the Fortville Elementary School for 25 years and retired from IPT/Keihn in Greenfield in 2019. She enjoyed collecting spoons, antiquing with her family, mowing the yard, walking, and worked at F.A.R.M. (Fortville Area Resource Mission).

Debbie is survived by children: Brian K. (Brandy) Anderson of Noblesville and Lori (Matt) Kent of Greenfield. grandchildren: Elizabeth and Noah Anderson, Ashlyn Spencer and Jordyn Kent; step-grandchildren Delaney and Garrison Kent; siblings: Marcia (Floyd) Hughes and Randy (Bonnie) Smith as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Anderson in 2013 and her parents, listed above.

Friends may call on Monday, May 1, 2023, from 4 to 8 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A funeral to celebrate Debbie’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
