Donald L. Lightle, 73, of Pendleton passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025. He was born September 6, 1952, in Danville, IL to Arnet and Wreatha (Van Note) Lightle. Don liked smoking cigars and attending his retiree breakfasts, but most importantly he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Don graduated from the Police Academy in 1979 and retired as a Sergeant from the City of Lawrence Police Department in 2005.

Don is survived by his wife Dorothy (Campbell) Lightle, whom he married February 25, 1972, daughters Jennifer (Joe) Gordon and Jessica (Kris) Rodriguez, grandsons: Christopher (Courtney) Gordon, Aaron Gordon, Samuel Gordon, Albert (Sara) Weir and Aden Weir, granddaughter Jade Rodriguez, great-grandchildren Mikayla and Maren Bostic, Maylee Gordon, Aspen and Ridge Weir, brother Kenneth (Rebecca) Lightle and sister Cynthia Lightle. He was preceded in death by his parents, listed above.

A memorial service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Castleton United Methodist Church 7101 Shadeland Avenue Indianapolis, IN 46250. Friends may call on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Still Waters Adult Day Center for Alzheimer's and Dementia 7160 Shadeland Station Way Indianapolis, IN 46256.
