Donald James “Jim” Meek, 76, of Fortville, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Saturday, December 31, 2022 in hospice care at Golden Living in Greenfield. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 30, 1946 to Frank and Mary Ellen Meek.

Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife ,Rosemary Meek, in October of 2021. They were married on May 16, 1970 and lived in Dublin, Indiana for six years and moved to Fortville Indiana where they raised their family and have resided the majority of their lives. 

Jim was also preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Patricia Meek.

Jim is survived by his brother, Larry and wife Susie Meek of Zionsville; son Abraham Meek of Fortville, his daughter, Mary Harris and his son-in-law David Harris of Decatur, Georgia and grandchildren Kathleen Rose and Owen Harris.

A funeral to celebrate Jim’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Fortville Christian Church with Rob Rigsbee officiating. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 am until time of service. A caring cremation will follow the funeral service.

The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Jim’s memory to Fortville Christian Church.
