Edith M. (Ellis) Hayes

Edith M. Hayes, 82, of Fortville, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022, in Indianapolis.  She was born May 5, 1940, in Hibernia, IN to John and Elizabeth (Bruce) Ellis.  She worked at the Indiana Republican Headquarters in Indianapolis and later became an executive secretary at Regency Electronics, D & D Brake and eventually retired from Betz Chemical Company. 

Edie loved playing cards, traveling and was a member of the Heartland Camping Club.

Edie is survived by husband Gerald Hayes, whom she married May 10, 1959, son Randy Hayes of Fortville, grandchildren Paige Pierce, Amy Hayes, Taylor Hayes and Joshua Reitz and sister Helen (Donald) McCreary.  She was preceded in death by her daughter DeAnna Pierce and her parents listed above.
