Elmer “Nick” Nicholson, Jr., 96, of Noblesville passed away on Sunday January 17, 2021. He was born September 7, 1924 in Indianapolis to the late Elmer Nicholson, Sr. and Ruth (Amick) Nicholson. Elmer was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Veteran during WWII, where he received the Bronze Star. Elmer was also part of The Battle of the Bulge on Christmas Eve 1944 in France and received numerous medals. He was a retired carpenter.
Elmer is survived by daughter Cathy Tornberg of New Mexico; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willa (Haynes) Nicholson on February 2, 2018, his parents, sisters Marguerite, Nora, and Theresa as well as older brother George killed in World War II.
A celebration of Elmer’s life will take place on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, January 2021 from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
