Emerson L. Mattick, 84, of Indianapolis passed away February 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 29, 1937 in Indianapolis to Julius C. and Artie G. (Lamb) Mattick.
Emerson was a graduate of Otter Creek North High School in Terre Haute and founded the M & M Drywall Company in 1973 and was the president and owner of the company until his retirement after over 40 years.
Emerson is survived by sons: Jeffrey J. (Kathy) Mattick of Lawrence; Douglas E. (Audrey) Mattick of Pendleton; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Rob) Harber, Stephanie (Jon) Ginder, Bailey Butrum, Tabitha Franklin, Cora Butrum and Joe Mattick; great-grandchildren: Jeffery and Kali Harber. Emerson’s wife Jacqueline passed away in 2019 and his daughter Angelia fell ill with breast cancer and passed away in 1997 and he was also preceded in death by his parents and siblings Victor Mattick, Ruth L. Conrad, Jerry R. Mattick, Cleata Ball, Rosemary Brune, Bonnie Stultz and Carol Lilly.
A memorial service to celebrate Emerson’s life will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00 pm until the service begins. Memorial contributions will be accepted by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center P.O.
