Erik Stephen Lund, 41, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on April 27, 2022.
Erik was born to “Captain” Don Lund and Margaret “Peggy” Beckett on October 11, 1980, in Huntington, West Virginia.
A Graduate of Tift County High School Class of 1999. His college education started in the traditional setting but later transferred to higher education in the form of “The School of Rock”.
He touched countless lives in his short time and had many natural gifts that appeared effortless. At age 11, years before he could read music, he picked up his first guitar and played it by ear without formal lessons, and through his natural ability brought joy to all and inspired others to pursue music. As an accomplished musician, Erik was a vital member to many bands over the years and his artistic influence will be missed.
Sunday we are planning a Celebration of Life Memorial at 11am in honor of my Brother, Erik Lund. It will be Casual, and outdoors here in Indianapolis. Held at Garfield Park at the Ellis Shelter (Number 6 on the map) Some Snacks and waters will be provided, You're welcome to bring additional seating, music, beverages, and please bring all the stories and pictures you'd be willing to share. Lets celebrate the light in this world that he truly was! (we are in the process of and will be setting up an official Event invitation through Facebook so please keep an eye out for that)
In lieu of Flowers, I will be setting up a trust for my niece, Erik's Daughter, Alexandra, that can mature over the next several years, to give to her when she is of age. If anyone would like to donate, please contact me directly Via Facebook or in person Sunday.
He was known to possess and share an encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture and readily quoted everything from movies to comedians to music lyrics.
Erik will be remembered as an amazing, caring and dedicated father with a goofiness that made him loveable to all generations while making them feel as though they were the most important person in the room.
As an exceptionally gifted chef, Erik poured love and passion into every dish he prepared and was fueled simply by the joy his food brought to others.
Erik was a talented, genuine, caring, compassionate, lovable man with a natural ability to light up a room. He was a bright light in a dull world. Intelligent, quick witted and never cruel, he was adored by everyone who knew him.
Erik is survived by his fiancé and soulmate Elle Carrier Lund; his daughter Alexandra Lund; mothers Peggy Beckett and Donna McQuade; sister and best friend Emily Tondreau; niece and nephew Michele “Ella” and Samuel Tondreau; brother Jonathan (Michele) Cotham; many extended family members and countless friends.
He is preceded in death by his father “Captain” Don Lund; his grandparents Jess and Adele Beckett and Elmer and Edith Lund.
A Go Fund Me has been established to help raise money for Alexandra's college education. If you wish to contribute please click on this link: https://gofund.me/49d9e798.
