Faith Andrea Nelson, 79, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 11, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, Faith was the daughter of Bruce Nelson and Lois (Andres) Nelson. She spent her early years in Elmhurst, Illinois, where she attended Immanuel Grade School, before moving to Valparaiso, Indiana. Later, she moved to Franklin, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Franklin High School.

Faith continued her education at Winthrop University in South Carolina, earning a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She went on to dedicate more than 40 years of her life as a social worker for the State of Indiana, a career defined by compassion, service, and a deep commitment to helping others.

Faith was a woman of many passions and talents. She found joy in baking, playing the piano and playing the French horn, walking her dogs, and spending time in nature bird watching. Music played an important role in her life, as she was a member of the South Bend Symphony, performing on the French horn. She also volunteered as an usher at the Morris Civic Auditorium in South Bend and was a member of the Lutheran church.

Above all, Faith cherished her family. She was a loving mother to David Pyle (Marie Pyle) and Diana Pyle (John Munson), and a proud and devoted grandmother to Annaka Pyle, Gracie Pyle, and Booker Pyle Munson. Her surviving siblings are Jerrold (Jerry) Nelson and Christina (Tina) Nelson. She treasured time spent visiting with family taking walks, going out for dinner and especially in recent years reminiscing with her brother Jerry and taking a memorable hot air balloon ride.

Faith was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Lois Nelson; her brother, Bruce Nelson; and her sisters, Bonnie Nelson and Melissa (Nelson) Lickteig.

Faith’s family is very appreciative of Jamie Yoder (Marie's sister), her caregiver whose unwavering care and compassion brought comfort and love to Faith in her final days.

Faith will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories she created with those who knew her.

A private family viewing and celebration of life will be held. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Seals Funeral Home in Fortville, Indiana.

Faith will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
