Gerald A. McConnell

Gerald A. McConnell, 79, of Fortville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 18, 2025. He was born September 20, 1946, in Indianapolis to Arthur W. and Vivian J. (Burnham) McConnell. Gerald was a 1966 graduate of Lawrence Central High School. He was a member of Outlook Christian Church, United Auto Workers Local #23 and the National Rifle Association. Gerald retired from General Motors Worldwide Bus and Truck Plant in Indianapolis. 

Gerald is survived by his wife Nina J. (Apple) McConnell, whom he married August 5, 1967, son Jeffrey (Shelly) McConnell of Fortville, daughters Laura (Brian) Hollister of Noblesville and Jennifer (Robert) Robbins of Greenfield. In addition to 7 grandchildren, Morgan Moss, Benjamin Moss, Shawn Robbins, Joshua Robbins, Samuel Robbins, Evan McConnell, and Grant McConnell, a brother and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, listed above. 

In keeping with Gerald wishes, a simple cremation will take place. Gerald’s final resting place with be in the columbarium at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
