Harold L. Staley, 77, of Fortville, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. He was born September 30, 1945, in Indianapolis to Harold V. and Norma E. (McAllister) Staley. Harold graduated from George Washington High School and retired as a machine operator from Navistar in 2008 after 43 years’ service. He also was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 98.
Harold enjoyed golfing, loved to attend his children's and grandchildren’s sporting events and playing cards with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn (Beineke) Staley, whom he married October 9, 1963, sons: Harold Todd Staley of Indianapolis, Kirk (Nancy) Staley of Markleville and Kenneth (Lisa) Staley of Pendleton; daughter: Marla E. (John Norvell) Hockenbury of LaCenter, WA; grandchildren: Doug Dowden, Lauren (Tyler) Havens, Michael (Lauren) Staley, Brittany (Ryan) Montgomery, Kaelyn (husband Jacob Nevins) Staley, Mitchell Staley, Alexandra (Samuel) DeGies, Kamilla (Blake Harris) Frye and Xavier Staley; 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Stephen Ray Staley, his parents listed above and brothers John and Jack Staley.
A funeral service to celebrate Harold’s life will be held Sunday, January 15, 2023, at 5:00pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 pm until the time of service. Online condolences may be shared at www.sealsfuneralhome.com.
