Jake Zachary Reibel

Jake Zachary Reibel, a former travel soccer player with Indy Premier, an internationally-ranked gamer (Fortnite), and football player, died on February 19th, 2022. He was 16 years old. Jake recently transferred from Hamilton Southeastern High School to Fishers High School, where he was a sophomore.

Highly social, Jake loved hanging out with his friends, who were his main source of joy outside of his family and his dog. Jake was an adored son, brother, cousin, grandson, nephew, and friend. He knew no stranger, was curious, intelligent, kind, thoughtful, energetic, fun, handsome, and quite tall. Jake was a member of the Ski Club and planned to continue playing football at Fishers High School next fall. Jake was a member at Sagamore Country Club, worked at Tegry Bistro with his brother, and had recently engaged in entrepreneurial efforts managing a rental property with his father's company.

The cause of death was a car accident, which occurred in Chicago when he and (4) other friends drove to Chicago to take momentous selfies in front of Wrigley Field. The crash happened in Cook County on their way home to Fishers, Indiana. Please keep his friends in your thoughts and prayers as they heal from their own injuries.

He is survived by his mother Kara Kavensky (Adam Gibson), his father Kris Reibel, siblings Alexandra and Lukan; grandparents Kenna Knaysi (Ed), Ken Kavensky, Sr. (Jan), Gisela Reibel and Pete Reibel; uncle Ken Kavensky, Jr. (Jen), cousins Constance, Emily, and Sophia; aunt Susan Whiston (Andrew), cousin Tatiana; aunt Karin Reibel Dillon (David), cousins Bella and Vallory; aunt Lara Reibel Cooney (Steve), cousins Sebastian, Orion, and Katherina, and countless other relatives across four continents. Jake is also survived by his dog, Barron.

A Celebration of his (young) Life will commence on March 5th at Heartland Church in Fishers, 14900 E. 126th St, Fishers, IN 46037. Doors open at 11am, service begins promptly at 12pm followed by a receiving line @1pm with Jake’s family. If unable to attend in person, the Celebration will be live-streamed (link below).
