James Howard Tubbs, 75, of McCordsville, went to be with Jesus on December 16, 2023, in Indianapolis and is now surrounded by the glory of His presence. James was born September 17, 1948, in Hot Springs, Arkansas to James Howard Tubbs Sr. and Lorene Virginia (Fox) McCarty.
James worked as a Forklift Operator for Regal Beloit until his retirement. He attended New Life Christian Fellowship Church in Fortville. He loved spending time with his grandchildren taking them fishing and for rides on the golf cart.
James is survived by his wife of 25 years Judy (Moos) Tubbs whom he married on November 20, 1998; children James (Robin) Tubbs, Rick (Audra) McFarland, Lisa (Sam) Allgood, and Lora (Tom) James; grandchildren Kilee (Rob) Hollis, Dusty Imlay, Austin Imlay, Morgan (Zack) York, Lauren (Zach Vetor) James, Lincoln McFarland, Shiloh McFarland, Brandon Tubbs, Seth Tubbs, Jaden Tubbs, Brooke Allgood, and Brandon Allgood; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers Larry Tubbs and Jerry (Leslie) Tubbs; and many extended family members and good friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Kristina; and sister Martha Day.
A funeral service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at 12 pm on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Seals Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Riley Hospital for Children in Jim’s honor.
