Janett S. Wallace, 84, of McCordsville, formerly of Anderson, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021. She was born October 19, 1936 in New Palestine, IN to James E. and Thelma L (Stapp) Settles.
Janett attended Moral Elementary School and was a 1954 graduate of New Palestine High School. She was a member of the Fortville Christian Church. Janett worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Anderson retiring in 1996 after 27 years’ service. Janett was an avid Pacers fan and active on the New Palestine class of 1954 reunion committee. More than anything, her children and grandchildren were paramount in her life and she loved each one of them dearly.
Janett is survived by her daughters Stephanie (Don) Nevins of Greenfield and Michelle (Bill) McConnell of Fortville; 8 grandchildren Aaron (Michele) Martin, Matt (Dana) McConnell, Jaime (Tyler) Wilson, Adam (Polly) Wallace, Kyle Wallace, Megan (Zach Curran) Wallace, Shawn (Nikki) Clem and Kurtis (Ashley) Clem; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers: Carl (Judy) Settles of Beech Grove, James (Sheila) Settles of Greenfield, Roger (Patty) Settles of New Palestine; sisters: LaDonna (Paul) Rather of Apache Junction, AZ, Barbara Bainter of Warner Robins, GA, Pat (Mike) Taylor of Indianapolis, Stella Wall of Beech Grove as well as many special nieces and nephews.
Janett was preceded in death by daughter Shannon Clem in 2006, a son Michael Wallace in 2017 her parents and siblings Kenneth Settles and Marcia Settles.
Friends may call on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 5:00 ~ 8:00pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A funeral to celebrate Janett’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Rigsbee officiating. Visitation will also be held prior to the service from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
