Scot Lawyer, 54, of Ingalls, passed away unexpectedly at IU Health Saxony on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was born December 29, 1971, in Anderson, Indiana.
Scot was a 1990 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School and was an over the road truck driver for many different companies through the years.
Scot enjoyed softball, riding motorcycles, his yard, cooking, being with family and his dogs Pepper and Lucy. He was a member of the former Ingalls Volunteer Fire Department and served as the Ingalls Town Council President during Covid.
Scot is survived by his wife Rachel (Hutton) Lawyer whom he married May 13, 2017, children Keely Renee Lawyer of Ingalls, Haley Lynn Lawyer of Brownsburg, Maycie Elaine Hutton of Markleville, Richard James (Karlee) of Tennessee, William Scot Lawyer of Florida, step-daughter Lori Ann Anderson of Oklahoma, father James (Rebecca) Lawyer and mother Rosetta (Bruce) Lawyer; grandchildren Samuel Gray, Autumn Gray, Edward Gray, Evelyn Lawyer, Liam Sizemore, his father & mother in law Fred and Teresa Hutton of Markleville and brother & sister in law Michael & Christi Hutton of Carmel. He was preceded in death by his uncle Dale Bruce.
A service to celebrate Scot’s life will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Seals Funeral Home 122 W. Staat Street Fortville, IN 46040. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 pm until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Scot’s name to the ASPCA PO Box 96929 Washington, DC 20090-6929
