Jeanette (Vaughn) Scroggins

Jeanette Scroggins, 91, of McCordsville, passed away on October 27, 2024. She was born on September 15, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Otis and Mitchell (Harlem) Vaughn.

Jeanette worked for the United States Army at the Defense Finance Center as a Key Punch Operator. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield. Jeanette was passionate about animals and worked diligently with PAWS to find homes for homeless pets. She also loved horseback riding, crafting and sewing.

Jeanette is survived by her children Ray Gene Scroggins, Terry Lee Scroggins, Trena Jenea (Frank) Taylor, and Timmy Allen Scroggins; granddaughter Ashley (Josh) Rush; and great-grandsons Jacob and Jackson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Junior R. Scroggins in 1999; as well as her parents and her brothers Marvin and Melvin.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 11:00 am at Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat Street, Fortville, IN. Friends may call on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Seals Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gross Cemetery in Whitehall, Indiana where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
