John M. Addison

John M. Addison, 73, of New Castle, formerly of Fortville, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at his home.  He was born July 1, 1947 in Franklin, Indiana to the late Max J. and Mary (Willits) Addison.  John was a graduate of Lawrence Central High School, a former member of the Fortville Church of the Nazarene, the F & AM Lodge #319 in Indianapolis, Murat Shrine and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and currently attending The House church.  He was also a member of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne.  He retired from Turnkey Mechanical where he worked as an HVAC technician.

John is survived by wife: Barbara (Downs) Addison,  whom he married May 19, 2016; children: David (Michele) Addison of Oaklandon; Tina (David) Carpenter of Wisconsin; step-son: Brian (Brandy) Atkinson; grandchildren: Jordan, Chloe and Jarrett Addison; Shelby, Ashley & Carmela Carpenter; step-grandchildren: Kelsea (Chris) Baker, Austin (Aubrey) Shoemaker; Alan (Carissa) Barr and Renee Barr, Kamdyn Hiner, McKenna and Morgan Prickett; 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca (Wher) Addison; son: John M. Addison, Jr., parents; siblings: Robert Addison, Roy Addison and Carolyn Addison and stepdaughter Regina Barr.

A service to celebrate John’s life will take place on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 1:00 pm at The House Church 1401 Walnut Street New Castle, IN 47362. Please enter the parking lot on the corner of Grand Ave and 15th Street. Friends may call on Tuesday at The House from 11:00 am until the time of service.  As a reminder, the government mandate requires guests to wear masks when inside.
