Joseph H. Schank

Joseph H. Schank, 69, of McCordsville, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.  He was born June 28, 1949 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  Joe loved life, he was a race car driver and had his own team.  He enjoyed playing golf and basketball.  Joe was a dedicated family man who had not missed any of his grandchildren’s sporting events or programs. He was known for his sense of humor and being able to tell a joke.  Joe was an all-around good guy.  He was a member of the Fortville Christian Church and involved in Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Life.  Along with his wife Sally, Joe owned and operated Schank Electronic Marketing, Inc. for 36 years. 

Joe is survived by his wife Sally L. (Mitchell) Schank, whom he married May 2, 1969; sons: Alex (Nikki) Schank of McCordsville and Nathan (Amy) Schank of Fortville; honorary son Matt Welp of Lawrence; grandchildren: Nathan Welp, Hannah Schank, Tyler Schank, Abby Schank, Conner Schank, Parker Schank, Emily Schank; siblings: Jane (Skip) Ramsey of Greenwood, Charles (Connie) Schank of Indianapolis, Tom Schank of South Bend, Doug (Lonna) Schank of Tennessee and Linda (Rick) Noland of Avon.  He was preceded in death by his father: Howard E. Schank, mother: Erika I. (Zimmer) Wilson and step-mother Phyllis Schank. 

Friends may call on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 2 to 6 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville.  A funeral ceremony to celebrate Joe’s life will at 11:00 am on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the funeral home.
