Joyce I. (Lanzer) White

Joyce I. (Lanzer) White, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023, in Carmel. She was born June 9, 1940, in Napoleon, Ohio to Ray H. and Leonore P. (Pfriem) Lanzer.  Joyce graduated from Holy Cross School of Nursing in 1961 and later received a Bachelor of Health Arts from St. Francis College in 1984. She retired as an RN from Community Hospitals of Indianapolis after 20 years’ service.  She was a member of the Rio Hondo Baptist Church, the Holy Cross Central School of Nursing Alumni, Snyra Guild and volunteered for the End of Road Ministry and as a van driver for Shrine Children’s Hospital of Texas.

Joyce is survived by children: Tony W. (Cathy) Anderson of Indianapolis; Timothy L. (Maria) Anderson of Virginia and Dawn R. (Rich) Sedam of Indianapolis; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; step-children: Linda (Mark) Mowery of Fortville, Michael (Rene) White of Fishers, Jerry (Polly) White of Niles, MI; 11 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Ronald (Billie) Lanzer, Paul  (Bonnie) Lanzer as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband W. Dean White in March of this year, her parents, sister LeRay Lanzer, brother Raymond Lanzer as well as step-daughter Paula Ferrill.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A funeral to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the funeral home Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
