Karen (Evans) Belcher

Karen E. (Evans) Belcher, 69, of Fortville passed away on August 9, 2023, in Indianapolis. She was born on November 5, 1953, in Colorado Springs, CO, to Fletcher and Arlene (Thiesing) Evans.

Karen worked for Cake Creator for 2 years. Specializing in hospitality, she also worked cafeterias at several local schools including Mary Castle Elementary for 27 years and Mt. Vernon High School, as well as Visiting Angels.

She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Karen was family-oriented and caring for her loved ones was the highlight of her life. Karen loved the beach and was able to visit Hawaii for her 50th wedding anniversary.

Karen is survived by her husband John Belcher of Fortville whom she married on November 28, 1970; sons John (Becky) Belcher of Fortville and Matt Belcher of Greenfield; daughters Dawn Belcher of Tipton and Ashley Belcher of Greenfield; grandchildren John Tyler, Joshua (Aimee), Jacob, Cameron, and Hannah; and great-granddaughter Ava; brother Kevin (Sherri) Evans; and sisters Kelly (Jimmy) Teague and Kathy Adcock; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service to celebrate Karen’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 7:00 pm at Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat St., Fortville. Friends may call prior to the service from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
