Larry Alan Jackson, 71, of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, passed away on January 21, 2024, at his residence. He was born on January 30, 1952, in Indianapolis to William “Bud” and Mildred (Lane) Jackson. Larry graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1970.
Larry worked as a driver for IMI for 36 years and was a member of the Teamsters Local 716. He was the former fire chief for Fortville Volunteer Fire Department for 9 years. He served a total of 22 years on the department. Larry loved fishing, woodworking, and riding his motorcycle. He adored spending time with his grandkids and being their Papa.
Larry is survived by his wife Cindy (Benjamin) Jackson whom he married on March 15, 1994. He is also survived by his children Brandy Beidelman of Fortville, Krista (Ben) Clark of Cincinnati, Matt (Jill) Clark of Ft. Wayne, and Kara (Justin) Baker of Indianapolis; grandchildren Ashley, Kenny, Abbi, Milo, Finley, Sawyer, Jack, and Jo; as well as extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents William “Bud” and Mildred Jackson and his aunt Anna Mae Lane.
Cremation services will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat St., Fortville, IN 46040, from 2 – 6 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Larry’s honor may be made to the Vernon Township Fire Department 600 Vitality Drive Fortville, IN 46040, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl Memphis, TN 38105 or the Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
