Linda K. (Akers) Hochstetler

Linda K. Hochstetler, 81, of Fortville, passed away Thursday November 16, 2023, at Rawlins House in Pendleton.  She was born August 10, 1942, in Hammond, IN to the late Paul Akers and Erva (Romine) Akers.  She was a graduate from North Central High School in Sullivan County.

Linda retired from Mt. Vernon Elementary School after 36 years of service as the head cook.  She was an active member of the Fortville Christian Church, the Fortville Lions Club, the Fortville Jaycees, and the Psi Iota Xi Sorority. She was the past President of the Hancock County Business and Professional Women's Club of which she was still an active member.

Linda is survived by her husband Ed Hochstetler, whom she married of May 17, 1964; daughter Pam Kingery of Fortville and son Brian (Amy) Hochstetler of Bloomington; grandchildren Brittany, Briann, Brandi, Caitlin, and Kelsey; and 7 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her granddaughter Brooke and her brother Larry Akers.

A funeral to celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 3:00 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville.
