Lloyd Gottfried Scott, 72, of McCordsville, passed away March 27, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. He was born December 30, 1947 in Indianapolis to Claude and Martha (Vail) Scott. Lloyd was 1966 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Lloyd retired as a corrections officer in 2011 after 20 years’ service at the Pendleton Reformatory.
Lloyd was an active member of the McCordsville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and giving advice. Lloyd enjoyed scrapping and it gave his life purpose when he retired.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Carolyn (Brown) Scott, whom he married October 15, 1971; sons: Brad Scott and Jason (Terri) Scott; grandson: Cameron Scott; bonus grandchildren: Taylor and Bridgette Cesnik; brothers: Bruce (Susie) Scott; Dennis (Jo) Scott; Wayne (Lisa) Scott; several nieces and nephews as well as sister-in-law Sally Griffin. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside funeral service for Lloyd will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 10:00 am at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville. Please be aware of social distancing if you will be attending the service. A celebration to honor Lloyd’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the McCordsville United Methodist Church P.O. Box 188 McCordsville, IN 46055.
