Manuel R. “Bud” Lewis, 86, of Fortville, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born January 27, 1934 in Hazard, Kentucky to James H. and Gracie M. (Childers) Lewis. He was a U.S. Army veteran achieving the rank of Sergeant with and MP designation. Bud retired as a supervisor from Ford Motor Company in 1987 after 32 years’ service. Prior to working at Ford, Bud owned and operated his own television repair business and had owned the House of Music in Greenfield.
Bud loved working in and around his home and property. He enjoyed music. He loved playing golf even having his own small golf course on his property. He loved fishing and purchased a bulldozer to build a pond on his property which he later stocked with fish.
Bud is survived by daughter: Kathy (John) George of Greenfield and son Oscar (Joan) Lewis of Willow Branch; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and brother George Lewis of Englewood, OH as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Loretta Lewis in May 2018, his parents and siblings Clyde, Helen and Mildred.
Pivate services for Bud will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Entombment will take place at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in New Castle, IN. Online condolences may be shared at www.sealsfuneralhome.com.
