Marietta (Cross) Bundy

Marietta (Cross) Bundy, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025. She was born on April 14, 1935, in Fortville, IN, to Paul T. and Mildred (Wallsmith) Cross. Marietta was a 1953 graduate of Fortville High School.

Marietta and her husband Bill owned and operated Bundy’s Finer Foods and Bundy’s Ice Cream Store in Fortville, IN for many years. Marietta was a member of Summit Church at Sunnyside. In her spare time she enjoyed decorating, Swedish weaving, and floral design.

Marietta is survived by her children Marybeth (Dean) Sears, of Fortville, IN and Michael (Kim) Bundy of Greenfield, IN; grandchildren Eric (Jessica) Sears, Brett (Joshua) Daw, Chase Bundy, Zane Bundy, and Megan Bundy; great-grandchildren Graden Sears, Elias Sears, Amelia Sears, Jack William Daw, Quinn Daw, and Teddy Daw; her brother James (Cheryl) Cross; and numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to her as Aunt Mert. Marietta is preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Bundy; son William (Billy)K. Bundy III; her parents Paul and Mildred Cross; and siblings Margery J. Leary, Doris M. Chappell Hiday, and Robert Cross.

A Celebration of Life reception will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, 4:00-7:00 PM at Summit Church at Sunnyside, 6102 Sunnyside Road, Indianapolis, IN 46236. Graveside Services will be privately held.  Memorial Contributions in Memory of Marietta may be made to the Vernon Township Community Garden’s, 602 Vitality Dr. Fortville, IN 46040.
