Marvilyn R. (Sukraw) Jones

Marvilyn Raye Jones, 80, of Fortville, Indiana, passed away on August 7, 2022, in Muncie. She was born on November 22, 1941, in North Platte, Nebraska to Marvin and Reva (Post) Sukraw.

Marvilyn completed her Bachelor’s degree at University of Nebraska Kearney and her Master’s degree in education at Ball State University. She was an elementary teacher in Missouri, Kansas, and Michigan specializing in reading. She was also the accountant for IntraTech Inc. Marvilyn was an artist making stained glass windows, jewelry, and all other types of crafts. She was a passionate advocate for any cause she truly believed in. She enjoyed playing bridge.

Marvilyn is survived by her husband Roger M. Jones, of Fortville, whom she married December 22, 1968. She is also survived by her son Matthew (Michelle) Jones of Greenfield; daughter Kathleen Jones of Fortville; and grandchildren Brenna (Michael) Rodriguez and Kevin Jones. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Darrell Sukraw.

A funeral to celebrate Marvilyn’s life will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, 9088 W. 1025 S., Fortville, IN 46040.
