Mary Kathryn (Kay) Hermance, 75, of Fishers, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 18, 1948, in Indianapolis to Carl and Anna M. (Beyer) Lauber. Mary graduated from Northwest High School in Indianapolis, had been a travel agent, worked in radio advertising sales and as a church secretary. She enjoyed volunteering in her free time. Mary volunteered as a poll worker, helping feed the homeless, as an apple dipper at Conner Prairie and also for the Britton Falls Garden Club. She loved to sing and was a member of several choruses, including the Haborlites Chorus, a Sweet Adelines International Champion.
Mary is survived by children Kathryn M. Bougher and Keith D. (Lindsay B.) Hermance, grandchildren David and Lucas Hermance as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband David W. Hermance, parents, brother Frank Lauber, sisters Charlene Shaughnessy and Betty Fentz.
A funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Fortville. Friends may call from 10:00 am to 11:45 am on Saturday at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A Celebration of Life will be held following Mass at Britton Falls Chateau from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
