Mary "Liz" Elizabeth (Silvey) Wilkin-Woodard

Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Wilkin Woodard, 93, of McCordsville peacefully passed away into the arms of Jesus on December 2, 2023. She was born on February 18, 1930, in McCordsville to Clarence and Mary E. (Socks) Silvey.

Liz was a loving mom, grandma, and great grandma, and a friend to many. She was born and raised in McCordsville. She was a graduate of McCordsville High School where she was a cheerleader. She was member of McCordsville United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.  As a young woman, Liz sang in a trio and sang at many church revivals. She retired from Kmart in 1994. 

She is survived by her husband Terrence “Ted” Woodard; children Mark (Debra) Wilkin of New Palestine, Mary Ann (Tony) Morales and Melinda Kent, all of McCordsville; stepdaughter Robbie Earlywine of Greenwood, and stepson Michael (Debbie)  Woodard of Morgantown; grandchildren Aaron (Erica) Kent, Ashley (Kyle ) Duncan, Daniel Morales, Sarah Doyle, Rebekah Coy and Shelby Weintraut; 11 great grandchildren; and brother Thomas O. (Carolyn) Silvey. 

Liz was preceded in death by husband Gerald Wilkin, her parents, and stepdaughter Brenda Sitching, and siblings William Silvey and Irene Beeson.

Funeral services for Liz will be held on Friday December 8, 2023, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville beginning at 3:00 p.m.  Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.  Graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday December 9, 2023, at the Fairview Cemetery in Elnora, IN.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.  Online condolences may be shared at www.sealsfuneralhome.com.
