Maxine S. (Scott) Murphy

Maxine “Max” Murphy, 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Woodbury, Indiana, died peacefully in her sleep on August 21, 2023, at Independence Village of Fishers in the Memory Care Unit. Max was born on May 20, 1934, in Liberty, Kentucky, to William and Lola (Buck) Scott.

Maxine had an engaging and unique personality. After retiring from Western Electric, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, Max was always ready to check out the next yard sale, looking for the best deal and pleasant conversations.

Maxine is survived by her youngest son Greg and Karen (Saindon) Murphy of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren Jason Ryan Murphy, Chad Murphy, and Sara (Murphy) Spoolstra; and great-grandchildren Tristan and Piper. She is preceded in death by her late husband of 53 years William “Bill” Murphy; her parents; and her oldest son Timothy “Tim” Murphy.

Private graveside services and burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville, Indiana.
