Melissa M. (Callahan) Melton

Melissa “Missy” Marie (Callahan) Melton, 45, of Pendleton, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023. She was born May 9, 1977, in Greenfield to Lyndon and Sara (Ewing) Callahan. Melissa was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. Her love was her family and pets. She had a positive attitude in life and was a happy soul, always willing to help anyone who needed it. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. Melissa enjoyed reading, movies, music, bowling, antique stores and spending time with her loved ones. 

Melissa was a 1995 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School and enjoyed being a homemaker.

Melissa is survived by husband Joseph Melton, whom she married March 24, 2014, daughter Alexandra “Lexi” Thompson, parents Lyndon and Sara (Ewing) Callahan, brother Jason (Mary) Callahan, sister Amanda (Michael) Goodin, father-in-law and mother-in-law Randy and Debbie Melton, sister-in-law Amanda (Andy) Wooldridge, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Melissa was preceded in death by her son Landon Albert Melton and her grandparents.

She was very much loved and will truly be missed.

A funeral to celebrate Melissa’s life will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow the funeral service at Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society for Hamilton County 10501 Hague Road Fishers, IN 46038 or the Pendleton Library 595 E.
