Michael Patrick Sweeney, 64, of Fortville, IN, passed away peacefully in his home on May 30, 2025. Born on May 9, 1961, in Indianapolis, IN, Michael was the son of Daniel and Loretta Sweeney. He attended Holy Spirit Catholic School and graduated from Scecina Memorial High School in 1980.
Michael was preceded in death by his beloved wife Debra Sweeney, and his parents Daniel and Loretta. He is survived by his son Ryan (Megan) Sweeney; daughters Jessica (John) Alexander and Shannon (Mark) Rose; his cherished grandchildren Reid, Tessa, Adalynn, Debra, Emmaline, and Everett; brothers Kevin (Lori) Sweeney and Kenny Sweeney; sisters Kathy (Bill) Elliott and Karen (Rick) Wildey; and many nieces and nephews.
Michael worked for Acosta Sales and Marketing for over 30 years. Michael loved all things outdoors. He found joy in spending weekends boating on the Ohio River and treasured his time with his close-knit group of friends at Willow Haven. He also loved traveling, especially to Florida to visit his brother and sister and to Colorado to spend time with his daughter. His love for life, family, and friends was evident in all he did, and he will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat Street, Fortville, IN, 46040 from 4 pm to 7 pm with a service beginning at 7 pm. He will be laid to rest at Gravel Lawn Cemetery on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to St. Thomas Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
