Mike Eastes

Mike Eastes, 74, of Carmel, formerly of Fortville, passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel. He was born July 17, 1949, in Batesville. Mike was a 1967 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. He was a member of the Good Sam’s Camping Club and the AT&T Camping Club. Mike was a former member of the Fortville Optimist Club and spent many years coaching his son, daughter and grandchildren. Mike was self-employed as a transportation driver.

Mike is survived by son Michael (Christy) Eastes of Greenfield, Amy (Brian) Manifold of New Palestine; grandchildren Jordian Eastes of Greenfield, Christopher (Peyton) Butler of Shirley and Sam Eastes of San Diego, CA; great-granddaughter Aliyah Butler, brother Sam Marshall and sister Letha Lykins. He was preceded in death by his father Myron Eastes, mother Addie (Johnson) Bennett, brothers Chuck Stoneburner, John Eastes and Bill Marshall.

A funeral to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Cremation will follow the services. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to the Mt.
