Retired CSM Miles S. Wilson, 59, of Anderson, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025, at his home.
Miles was born on April 13, 1965, in Ft. Wayne, IN, to James and Nancy (Weaver) Wilson. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and service. Miles retired from the U.S. Army after 29 distinguished years of service, having earned the rank of Command Sergeant Major. His dedication and commitment to his country and comrades were unparalleled, and he was a source of inspiration to many. He cherished the camaraderie of his many brothers in arms.
Miles was more than just a soldier. He was an avid baseball card collector and a passionate fan of the New York Yankees and Notre Dame football. His playful spirit and love for the game, whether in conversation or during family gatherings, made him unforgettable.
Miles was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Venessa Earls (Wilson), whose memory he carried with him every day.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tamera (Anders) Wilson, whom he married on November 21, 2017, and his two loyal dogs, Harley and Trooper, who brought him joy and companionship. Miles also leaves behind his daughters Malorie Ashton, Macey Sparacio, Alexandra Wilson, and his son Derek Wilson. He is the proud and doting grandfather of Austin, Carson, Raegan, Wyatt, Chloe, Kora, Jaxson, Lincoln, and Titus, all of whom were a constant source of joy and pride in his life. He is also survived by his bonus daughter & son-in law, Taylor & Adam Hope, who were an important part of his heart.
Miles’s family was everything to him, and his love for them was limitless. He lived his life with integrity, honor, and a fierce devotion to the people he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat Street, Fortville, IN 46040. A funeral to celebrate Miles’s extraordinary life will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow the funeral at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
