Myla Jo (Henry) Harrison

Myla Harrison, 71, of Fortville, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025. She was born May 19, 1954, in Shelbyville, Indiana.  Myla was a 1972 graduate of Shelbyville High School and a homemaker.  Myla loved working outdoors with plants and flowers.  She had a wonderful “Green Thumb”. She could grow tiny starter plants to huge plants to be enjoyed by all.  Myla enjoyed singing as she worked throughout the house. She loved her grandchildren. She loved life and was always on the go.

Myla is survived by husband Douglas Harrison, whom she married June 8, 1980; children: Brandon (Lisa) Staker, Hayley (Michael) O’Reilly and Doug Harrison Jr. 12 grandchildren; sister Crystal Henry, half-sister Cathy Scholmer and half-brother Joey Fall as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Carey Hanson, father Edward Henry and mother Rhonda (Miller) Miller.

A funeral to celebrate Myla’s life will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
